Why Gel is Used to Make Surgical Positioning Cushions:

What kind of material is gel?

Gel is a colorless and odorless liquid material with good fluidity before curing; after curing, it becomes a soft elastic body with stickiness on the surface.

The process of making surgical posture pads from gel:

1. Prepare molds of different parts and shapes (mold materials can be: metal, plastic, silica gel, etc.), gel materials, containers, films, etc.

2. The gel is divided into two components, A and B, which are mixed at a ratio of 1:1. (The colloid will inevitably produce bubbles during the stirring process. If there is no bubble pumping equipment, the material can be cured at room temperature; if the bubbles can be pumped, it can be heated to improve work efficiency)

3. Lay a thin film on the bottom of the mold, inject the mixed silicone gel material into the mold, and cure at room temperature or by heating.

4. After the silicone gel is solidified, use high temperature to press the film to wrap the silicone gel completely.
